The Ballroom Dance Company is the only northwest studio with multiple age-specific performance teams that perform and compete successfully throughout the country. Please call (503)639-4861 to find out when our next audition session is. These are always open to the public. Experience is not as important as a great attitude and willingness to work hard towards improving your dancing.

Performing with a team is an excellent option for people who are new to dancing, those who do not have a partner but wish to perform, and those who wish to perform but do not want to invest thousands of dollars in costuming.
Performance Teams usually train two days per week, 1-2 hours per session. Our adult team consists of 2 stand-alone teams (Mondays & Wednesdays), students may choose to join one or both groups. Tuition is determined per month or per semester. Training costs as little as $5 per hour. Students who join one of our performance teams are expected to remain on the team through the end of that semester. This is because dancers are paired together & pieces are choreographed for the exact number of dancers expected to be on the team.
Ballroom & latin costume fees usually run $65 per student, term. This covers the rental fee for performers costumes, which are returned at the end of each semester. Performers must wash their costume at the end of each semester. Dancers provide their own shoes.
Students who do not want to rent a costume do have the option of spending more money to buy (and own) their own costume. This costume must be identical to everyone else on the team. Please ask your coach at the start of the semester if you wish to do this, so you can order your costumes in time. Please note these are custom and professionally made in California and Hong Kong, and can take 2 months from order to delivery date.
We usually offer a west coast swing performance team option with a shorter-term time commitment, which runs 10 weeks before each showcase. West coast team performers do not pay a costume rental fee, but are required to buy their own inexpensive, matching costumes as directed by the team coach.
Depending on team skill and interest, our teams might also compete. If the team chooses to compete in a given semester, members split the (additional) cost of competition entry fees and admission tickets.
